Description
Sales Development Manager
The Sales Development Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the development, training, and performance of a team of SDRs. This individual will not only serve as a mentor and coach to the SDR team of four, but will also actively manage SDR operations and strategy to meet and exceed quotas. Success in this role will require strong leadership skills, the ability to drive a, high-performance culture, and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
POSITION DETAILS
Structured as a remote full-time exempt position. This position will report to the Director of Enterprise Sales.
We have been a 100% remote company since the beginning! This position is eligible to remote work from the following locations: USA.

The Details
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Leadership & Coaching: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Sales Development Representatives to achieve individual and team performance goals. Provide regular coaching, feedback, and support to enhance their prospecting, lead generation, and sales skills.
- SDR Strategy: Develop and execute strategies to meet and exceed pipeline development targets. Work closely with senior leadership to align sales objectives with company goals.
- KPIs: Track progress regularly and implement tactics to ensure consistent performance.
- Performance Management: Monitor SDR performance and provide actionable insights to optimize outreach and conversion strategies. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide development plans for SDRs.
- Pipeline Management: Oversee and maintain KPIs and quota attainment, along with the pipeline generated by the SDR team, ensuring that high-quality leads are being passed on to the sales team. Collaborate with account executives and other departments to ensure smooth transitions from lead generation to closing.
- Reporting & Analysis: Track and report on sales metrics, pipeline development, and revenue generation. Provide detailed performance reports to the sales senior management and make data-driven decisions to improve results.
- Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product, and sales leadership to ensure that SDR efforts align with the overall business strategy and that district sales activities are supported by cross-functional teams.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, sales methodologies, and emerging technologies to continually enhance team performance and sales strategies.
Position Requirements

EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of experience in a business development management role, preferably in SaaS or a related industry.
- Proven track record of leading sales teams and consistently meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and sales enablement tools.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to view computer screens for significant periods of time. The Art of Education University is an online university therefore 95-98% of one’s time will be on or using technology.
- Ability to use a laptop keyboard with accuracy.
- Ability to hear at normal levels and through electronic devices such as laptops, earbuds, phones, and the like.

The Process
For most roles, the process is as follows:
- Step 1: ~30-minute phone interview with the recruiter
- Step 2: Interview with the hiring managerFor high-collaboration roles, you will be asked to participate in a 45-minute Zoom interview with the hiring manager.
- Step 3: Hobby Presentation & InterviewSince this is a role leading a business development team, this step is intended to see how you present to a group. You will be asked to give a 30-minute Hobby presentation to a panel in a 1-hour Zoom interview with 2-3 additional stakeholders. The intention is to give us a chance to see your skills in action and to ask additional questions as well as an opportunity to get to know team members that you will work closely with.
