About the Role
Under the general direction of the VP, Sales, the Sales Development Representative (SDR) will play a key role in driving the growth of our Nelson Solutions’ Product Offering through an inbound sales model.
We seek a highly organized candidate with strong communication skills, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and experience with sales technologies such as Salesforce. This entry-level role offers diverse opportunities for growth within the Sales team with a multitude of learning opportunities aboard a team of world class professionals. This is a temporary, 12-month contract position.
Key Accountabilities
- Contact current and retired customers with information about new products.
- Demonstrate consultative selling techniques to identify how our products and services can best meet the our customers’ prospective needs.
- Accurately record and track all lead interactions, including contact information, lead status, notes, and follow-up activities, within the CRM system (Salesforce).
- Work with professional organizations to get promotional material out to their membership.
- Seek out new customer opportunities.
- Monitor all school conferences for additional sales opportunities.
Who You Are
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is a highly organized, detail-oriented early career Sales professional with an interest in the Education industry. You are a proactive, thoughtful problem-solver who is able to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and internal stakeholders. You are responsible, prompt, and have a passion for providing exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following traits:
- 1-2 years of experience in a Sales or Lead Generation role.
- Experience in K12 education and/or SaaS sales environments is an asset.
- Strong professional presence with excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently.
- Deadline-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
- Comfort with computer systems, quick to learn.
- Strong customer service skills and high regard for customer satisfaction.
- Well-organized, with excellent attention to accuracy and details.
- Comfortable and adaptable to work peak times and volumes (cyclical).
- Familiarity with Salesforce and Microsoft applications is considered an asset.
