The Senior Operations Project Manager (Sr. Ops PM) will be in the Business Operations Division, reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Operations Officer (D/COO). The Sr. Ops PM will be responsible for managing complex and comprehensive projects related to the integration of acquired companies and technical initiatives from start to finish, which includes establishing rapport and working with key stakeholders in coordination with the CEO and D/COO of KnowBe4. This role will also be instrumental in establishing a Project Management Office (PMO) within Business Operations. The Sr. Ops PM will serve as the essential connective tissue between Sector PMOs, providing oversight, coordination, and governance for enterprise-wide strategic projects. You will be responsible for synthesizing cross-functional initiative reporting, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, and driving the successful execution of our most critical business priorities through standardized methodologies, stakeholder management, and executive-level communications.
The ideal candidate must be capable of managing multiple technical projects with a variety of teams and technical platforms while simultaneously maintaining strong organizational skills. In addition to the management of technical projects, the Senior Project Manager is also expected to be able to coordinate and inform updates.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the establishment and development of a formal PMO within Business Operations, including defining project management methodology, governance, and best practices
- Develop, manage, and execute project plans for the integration of acquired companies and technical initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to business operations
- Serve as lead Project Manager for strategic and crossfunctional initiatives, working closely with various departments to ensure successful execution
- Manage Steering Committee meetings and executive updates, including preparation of decks, presentations, and meeting materials
- Create detailed work plans, schedules, and project documentation, maintaining comprehensive project files and archives
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success, with particular focus on technical implementation risks
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align project goals with overall business objectives
- Monitor project progress, manage resources, and report regularly to senior leadership and Steering Committee(s)
- Facilitate effective communication between all project stakeholders, including executives, team members, and external partners
- Provide mentorship and guidance to project coordinators and junior project managers as needed
- Ensure all projects adhere to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in related field preferred
- 7+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years leading complex, cross-functional projects
- Experience managing technical projects and M&A integration initiatives
- PMP certification or equivalent required; technical certifications a plus
- Demonstrated experience establishing or contributing to a PMO
- Strong financial acumen with ability to manage project budgets and resource allocation
- Expert knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (Smartsheet, MS Project, Jira, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills with ability to influence and negotiate across all organizational levels
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple high-priority projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with executive leadership on strategic initiatives
