The Instructional Design Manager leads the KnowBe4 Academy Team in creating and managing high-quality learning content within the platform. You provide strategic direction to your team while developing their capabilities to effectively deliver content for our platform. With a track record of leveraging your project management expertise to deliver complex learning initiatives within deadlines, the Academy Manager builds strong cross-functional relationships that drive collaboration and foster a high-performing team culture.
Responsibilities:
- Provide training, leadership, and professional development to the KnowBe4 Academy team, including instructional designers and implementation specialists, and project direction to creative designers.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive content development standards, streamlined workflows, and clear guidelines to ensure high-quality outputs while accommodating the growing volume and variety of the KnowBe4 Academy’s learning initiatives.
- Develop and execute the KnowBe4 Academy initiatives across all ADDIE stages, ensuring timely delivery of quality learning content and meeting project milestones through effective planning and resource management.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation across the content development lifecycle, including strategic planning documents, quarterly content roadmaps, stakeholder input, and completed deliverables.
- Monitor project challenges and resolutions to enhance content delivery efficiency and support ongoing quality improvements.
- Coordinate communication across all involved teams, ensuring stakeholders are regularly informed on content development progress, necessary adjustments, and achievements related to timelines and resource use.
- Champion best practices in online learning methodologies and instructional design principles, continuously evaluating emerging trends and research-backed approaches to ensure educational content meets the highest standards of engagement, accessibility, and knowledge retention.
- Provide genuine recommendations as to the hiring, firing, promotion, and discipline of subordinate employees to which the Company gives significant weight
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Communications, Instructional Design, or similar
- 2+ years of experience leading a team of three or more people
- 2+ experience developing instructional content as an instructional designer
- Experience managing complex projects in an educational or digital product environment
- A strong understanding of instructional design and the ADDIE learning development model.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized with great time management abilities.
- An operational proficiency in project management.
- Experience with Google Suite and Jira (preferred not required)
- Experience with building learning content in Intellum (preferred not required)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and can develop relationships with organizational stakeholders.
