Role Snapshot
The Grounds Maintenance Worker is responsible for turfgrass and landscape maintenance activities, equipment operations, and pesticide applications at Kirkwood Community College, ensuring high standards of campus appearance.
Key Responsibilities: Key duties include mowing and trimming grass, managing weeds, performing snow removal, maintaining and calibrating equipment, applying pesticides, and ensuring safety compliance across all campus grounds and facilities.
Skills & Tools: Required skills include knowledge of horticultural equipment operation, ability to evaluate turf and landscape for disease and pest problems, and understanding of occupational hazards and safety precautions in grounds maintenance.
Qualifications: Preferred qualifications include a State of Iowa Pesticide Applicator 3OT License, Class B CDL Driver's License (or willingness to obtain), and prior experience in grounds maintenance.

Compensation: $30K–$45K/yr
