Role Snapshot

AmeriCorps member position with Reading Partners dedicated to improving literacy outcomes for elementary students in North Charleston, SC. The role combines direct community service with professional development through individualized tutoring and reading instruction.

Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one reading instruction to students, paired with volunteers to deliver individualized tutoring sessions focused on building reading skills and confidence. Support classroom literacy activities and help students become independent readers through hands-on service.
Skills & Tools: Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with students and volunteers, commitment to education and community service, and ability to work collaboratively within a nonprofit environment.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; previous experience with education, tutoring, or community service preferred but not mandatory for AmeriCorps positions.
Location: North Charleston, South Carolina
Compensation: $2K/mo
