Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between $90,000 - $130,000.
This role is for a strategic, customer-centric Sales Engineer who partners with Sales to win net-new deals and expand existing customers by serving as the ultimate product and domain expert for our Ivy and Ocelot AI chatbot solutions for Higher Education.
You will translate complex AI technologies and higher education integration requirements into simple, compelling, value-based solution stories. You'll drive successful outcomes by merging technical depth with business value, ensuring prospects can decide with confidence.
This is a fully remote role and can be held by an employee living in Canada or the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer-Centric Solution Design: Act as a trusted advisor to prospects & Customers, leading deep-dive technical discovery, mapping their requirements (especially integration needs) to our product capabilities, and designing a clear, value-based path to success.
- Value-Based Demonstrations & Storytelling: Develop and deliver compelling, customized product demonstrations and solution narratives that articulate clear business value and ROI. Master the art of 'value-based storytelling,' effortlessly oscillating between high-level strategic conversations with executive audiences and deep technical dives with IT teams.
- Technical Expertise & Integration Strategy: Serve as the technical domain expert for Ivy and Ocelot, specializing in AI/NLP/LLM capabilities. Design and articulate sophisticated integration strategies, including connections with Student Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems common in higher education.
- Demo Environment & Asset Management: Design, manage, and maintain cutting-edge, realistic demo environments and assets that showcase complex, real-world higher education use cases and deep integrations. Design demonstration workflows that effectively showcase technical superiority.
- Technical Deal Execution: Manage and complete technical RFPs and security questionnaires with precision and clarity. Work closely with technical and security teams at strategic prospects to address SSO, API, and implementation requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the primary conduit between the field sales team and Product Management/Engineering, providing critical field feedback to inform the product roadmap and remove deal roadblocks.
- Market Fluency: Stay current on all platform capabilities, competitive landscape, and industry trends within the higher education technology space to position our solutions with authority.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of SaaS enterprise software Sales Engineering or equivalent strategic technical customer-facing experience.
- Deep technical fluency and practical experience with AI, machine learning, or natural language processing technologies.
- Significant, practical experience with integration technologies and platforms commonly used in higher education (e.g., APIs, middleware) and strong familiarity with major SIS/LMS/ERP/CRM vendors (e.g., Ellucian, Oracle, Salesforce).
- Proven ability to lead technical discovery, design custom solutions, and build and maintain complex demo environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to make complex technical and value propositions concise, understandable, and compelling.
- Strong understanding of SaaS security, data privacy, and integration standards (e.g., APIs, authentication protocols).
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and execute in fast-moving sales cycles.
