About the Opportunity
Ellucian is seeking an experienced Senior Colleague Financial Aid Consultant to join the North American Professional Services team to lead implementations of our integrated administrative solutions for colleges and universities. The Senior Colleague Financial Aid Consultant will support all aspects related to the implementation, assessment, configuration, conversion, training, testing and deployment of our Colleague Financial Aid Solution. The position will capitalize on your extensive understanding of the Colleague Financial Aid Information System, specifically focused on these areas: Application Processing, Requirements Tracking, Budgeting, Funds Management, Packaging, Disbursement, Federal Program Management, Self Service and Satisfactory Academic Progress. Understanding the connections to the Student and Accounts Receivable Modules will be of added value.

In this mission critical role, you will partner with our customers to help enable their transformation to cloud/SaaS solutions and ensure successful adoption of these solutions.
Where you will make an impact
- Act as a thought leader for and key contributor to our Colleague Financial Aid implementations, able to lead and influence client teams at all levels.
- Provide advice and guidance on industry best practices and recommended practices for implementing Colleague Financial Aid, working with leadership and staff in colleges and universities to ensure the Colleague Financial Aid solution is implemented & configured to best align to institutional processes and academic and business needs.
- Proactively prepare for and deliver high quality services with a willingness to learn and adapt to new strategies that evolve as technology and implementation methodology mature.
- Support customers in making a smooth transition from their existing financial aid systems or processes, applications, and procedures to Colleague Financial Aid processes through implementation efforts and ongoing consulting. Provide change management advice as appropriate.
- Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to bridge the gap between the functional and technical aspects of Ellucian solutions and client’s business objectives.
- Drive customer adoption of performance improvement and modernization, resolving blockers to ensure smooth and successful SaaS implementations
- Ability to analyze, identify, clarify, and organize system requirements for financial aid rule writing in the form of use cases and specification parameters to be provided to development peers.
- Collaborate with various Professional Services teammates to support continuous improvement of the consulting practice: refine delivery and engagement materials, facilitate team-wide or group presentations and knowledge-sharing activities, and participate in other team activities that drive continuous improvement of the delivery of Ellucian services.
- Ability to achieve customer satisfaction, project goals, and utilization targets.
- Participate in Ellucian company-wide cross-departmental initiatives as required.
What will you bring
- At least 3-5 years, preferably more, experience working in field of Financial Aid. Role(s) in the Financial Aid field should have demonstrated deep understanding of U.S. Department of Education regulatory rules and compliance standards at an accredited institution of higher education in the United States or abroad. Roles with increasing levels of responsibility and oversight are particularly preferred.
- At least 1-2 years, preferably more, experience working in a training or consulting context (assisted in team trainings, system implementation, or other collaborative learning/teaching experience).
- Demonstrated experience in consulting and/or training and development; system implementation, and requirements gathering is beneficial.
- Must have experience with Colleague Financial Aid.
- Experience with Banner, Student Forms, Scholarship Universe, Experience, and/or Insights are a plus.
- Willingness to grow knowledge across other Ellucian solutions.
- This position requires enthusiasm and energy; willingness to learn and adapt quickly; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and previous experience conducting training sessions.
- The successful candidate must be a disciplined self-starter, able to work on multiple projects concurrently, and must be able to meet or exceed deadlines for customer and internal deliverables.
- The successful candidate must also be able to collaborate effectively and willingly and must be an engaged and interactive member of a large and very experienced team.
- Proven ability to use appropriate skills in the areas of: project coordination, prioritization of demands, conflict management, decision making tools & techniques, group discussion, training, facilitation, decision-making, communication, and time management.
- Demonstrated experience in consulting and/or training and development; system implementation, and requirements gathering is beneficial.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills with demonstrably credibility and experience in the subject matter, as well as gravitas to influence senior client stakeholders at client site and industry events.
- Proven ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience with consortium or system-wide models, California, Texas, Florida or New York state higher education regulations would be a bonus.
