Your impact on the team
As a Curriculum Specialist for Humanities, you are an experienced educator who brings deep expertise in 6–12 ELA and/or Humanities. You transition your classroom knowledge into a product specialist and master presenter role. You will connect instructional best practices with McGraw Hill’s high-quality resources. By understanding district priorities, educational trends, and territory revenue goals, you effectively communicate the value of our solutions and deliver tailored support before, during, and after the sale. Your ability to foster strong partnerships with sales teams and school leaders helps bridge the gap between innovative curriculum and classroom implementation, ultimately supporting teacher success and student achievement.
This is a remote position with travel open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. Candidates are required to travel about 80% of the time around your territory. Candidates must live within 1 hour of a major airport and reside in Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, DC, or Delaware. Additionally, this position requires traveling by car. We require candidates to have a valid driver’s license with the ability to drive a car in their designated territory.
What is this role about?
- Fostering relationships with educators and district leaders to support sales growth and long-term partnerships.
- Delivering engaging, high-impact sales presentations and providing strategic pre- and post-sales support, including implementation guidance and training.
- Maintaining a deep understanding of Humanities products and how they align to educational standards, district initiatives, and territory revenue goals.
- Collaborating closely with sales team members while also working independently to manage responsibilities and territory needs.
- Remaining current in educational trends, instructional best practices, and pedagogical research in ELA and Social Studies.
- Supporting schools and districts through adoption and implementation of McGraw-Hill resources.
- Utilizing strong technology skills to develop and deliver dynamic multimedia presentations both virtually and in person.
We’re looking for someone with…
- B.A. or B.S. degree required; M.A. or higher preferred.
- 5+ years of successful teaching experience (ELA/Humanities focus preferred); educational leadership at the building, district, and/or state level is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of ELA and/or Social Studies pedagogy, trends, and instructional best practices.
- Previous experience in educational sales or supporting educational products preferred.
- Proven experience presenting to diverse audiences (teachers, coaches, district staff, community stakeholders) and/or providing instructional coaching.
- Passion for education and supporting districts adopting McGraw-Hill resources.
- Ability to build rapport, confidently respond to audience questions, and strategically address objections.
- Strong technology proficiency, including presentation software and hardware (PC or Mac, whiteboard technology, 1:1 devices).
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Residence near a major metropolitan airport required.
- Fluent Spanish speaker highly preferred.

This is a 10-month position with the month of December off and an additional 4 weeks off between April-July. Annual salary will be prorated based on 10 working months and paid over 12 months.
The pay range for this position is between $54,600 - $71,000 annually. Pay range is based on candidate's location and base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. An annual bonus plan is provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
