About the Role
The HR Leadership team at Elsevier plays a pivotal role in shaping the people strategy that supports our mission to advance human progress across the global research and healthcare ecosystems. As a trusted partner to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Chief Product Officer (CPO), this role operates at the intersection of talent, technology, and product excellence.
In this role you will work closely with our Technology and Product leaders to build high-performing, inclusive, and future-ready AI first teams. Your focus spans strategic workforce planning, talent management, organizational effectiveness, and cultivating a culture where innovation thrives.

You will ensure we have the right conditions in place to develop and release the potential of our leaders and their teams. Your credible commercial edge will enable you to influence the future direction of the business beyond your functional expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a business leadership team member and trusted partner to the CTO, CPO and their senior leadership teams to influence and inform business decisions
- Own the long-term people strategy for Global Product & Technology, ensuring both organizations have the talent, organization and culture to develop and support AI first products
- Shapes the people plan with a focus on technical capability building, Talent development and modern engineering/ product practices
- Leads global organizational capability reviews to ensure the people, systems and tools are in place to enable our talent and drive growth
- Leads complex global change where there is a people, talent or culture implication
- Leads HR for Tech focused Mergers and Acquisition activities including capability evaluation, cultural integration and organizational alignment
- Develops strategic workforce plans that support the attraction and retention of AI plus domain Talent across the fields of Data Science, Engineering, UX and Product Management.
- Act as member of the HR Leadership team, shaping the future of HR, driving the implementation of solutions and acting as the escalation point for the HR team
- Partner with HR COEs to define desired solutions with business and orchestrates across multiple HR functions, regional teams and key stakeholders to deliver divisional HR strategy
Requirements:
- 10+ years of related HRBP experience in Product, Technology and Data Science fields
- Brings a clear understanding of how AI is reshaping technology and product organizations, and anticipates its impact on workforce strategy, skills, and operating models
- Deep domain understanding of Product, Technology and Data Science operating models
- Proven track record of translating Product and Technology strategies into People strategies and plans
- Strong commercial acumen
- Demonstrable experience of coaching and influencing senior leaders with the ability to negotiate and influence effectively
- Experience in organizational and leadership development practices
- Proven ability to analyze data to solve complex problems, as well as using data to quantify and measure success
- Proven track record of implementing people priorities associated with significant organizational change and redesign program
- Understanding of project management principles and experience of managing projects to successful conclusion
- The ability to build successful, collaborative relationships quickly with your HR colleagues and the wider organization
- Previous experience working in a matrixed, COE-enabled HR organization

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $156,700 - $290,900. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates. This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
