Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Serves as the Learning & Development generalist providing impactful learning experiences and resources to build individual, team and leadership competence and confidence and safe work practices within their assigned client divisions. Is a strategic partner who assists their business partners in identifying barriers/root causes to performance and provides/recommends and executes targeted business solutions.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Using UO and functional metrics and measures, applies a systematic process for discovering and analyzing performance gaps, plans for future improvements in performance, designs and develops learning solutions to close performance gaps, partners with the client when identifying the opportunity and the solution, oversees implementation of the solution, monitors the change, and evaluates and communicates the results.
  • Designs, delivers and facilitates synchronous and asynchronous training and development programs and initiatives in support of the companyโ€™s training plan, objectives and brand essence.
  • Ensures training materials are updated, relevant and support current Standard Operating Procedures. Incorporates measurement and assessment tools to support all training.
  • Partners and supports client with special events and inititatives
  • Manages development and activities of direct and indirect reports. Manages the certified trainer development program (selection criteria, skill development/evaluation) for asssigned client group(s).
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SCOPE:

  • Some decision-making. Influences decisions of a moderate nature requiring high degree of tact.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Human Resources, Instructional Design or related field required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years experience in training required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • PHR, SPHR or ASTD certification preferred.
