Role Snapshot
Tutor Me Education seeks an ASL-fluent support staff member to provide 1:1 in-home and school-based tutoring and daily living assistance to a high school student with intellectual disabilities and hearing impairments in Sun Valley, CA. This role directly impacts the student's academic success, communication access, and social integration within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities: Provide direct 1:1 support throughout the school day using American Sign Language to ensure full classroom access, assist with academic tasks and daily living skills, and support behavior regulation and transitions. Collaborate with teachers and service providers to implement IEP goals while maintaining confidentiality and school policy compliance.
Skills & Tools: Fluency in American Sign Language is required, along with strong interpersonal skills, patience, and ability to adapt communication strategies. Experience working with students with intellectual disabilities and hearing impairments is preferred.
Qualifications: High school diploma is required. Additional training in special education, interpreting, or related fields is preferred; experience working with special needs students is also preferred.
Location: Sun Valley, California
Compensation: $20–$30/hr
