Summary

Quality Assurance Analyst responsible for testing and troubleshooting Financial Aid Management System (FAM) processes to ensure accurate Title IV aid administration. Role requires analytical expertise in federal financial aid regulations and system quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities: Test and maintain FAM functionality, analyze Title IV aid processing data, provide tier three support to staff, work with vendors on requirements and production issues, and present findings and recommendations to executive leadership. Ensure system security, maintain COD reporting, and collaborate with operations to improve processing accuracy and efficiency.
Skills & Tools: Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office Suite proficiency, strong analytical and statistical analysis capabilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to conduct primary and secondary research. Must demonstrate expertise in federal financial aid data sources (NSLDS, Department of Education) and ability to present complex findings to executive audiences.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required with 3+ years of financial aid processing or related analytical work experience desired. Experience analyzing business-critical metrics and presenting results to executive-level audiences preferred.
Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $55,000 – $75,000/year based on title, seniority, and location.

Job Description

This role is responsible for testing and troubleshooting system processes relating to the administration of Title IV aid within the Financial Aid Services team. This will act as the Quality Assurance Analyst for the Financial Aid Management System (FAM) and use their analytical skills to ensure the accurate processing of financial aid.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with vendors to scope and define requirements for new functionality based on Federal regulations.
  • Work with vendors to prioritize production support issues and test maintenance releases of the Financial Aid Management System.
  • Test and maintain custom solutions for the administration of systems related to processing Title IV aid.
  • Review processing of Title IV aid and provide recommendations to executive team on changes in processing and/or systems.
  • Analyze data related to Student Financials, including trends in Title IV usage, compliance and packaging efficiency.
  • Provide tier three support to SEI staff for Title IV aid processing.
  • Assist in collection and documentation of user requirements.
  • Be an expert in data supplied by industry sources (NSLDS, servicers, Department of Education, etc.) and on research related to FAS analytics.
  • Maintain and test COD reporting.
  • Ensure the security of financial aid applications, documents, systems, and students’ personally identifiable information.
  • Work with operations within FAS to improve accuracy and efficiency of processing.
  • Effectively use information to identify and escalate issues as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills & focus on accuracy required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Must be highly proficient at primary and secondary research, with a high level of demonstrated statistical analysis and data presentation.
  • Highly proficient with the rest of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Candidate will be expected to present research findings and actionable recommendations to the FAS Management team in concise fashion.

Work Experience:

  • 3+ years of financial aid processing or related analytical work experience desired.
  • Experience analyzing metrics critical to the business and presenting results to executive audiences.
  • Ability to deliver high quality work while meeting deadlines.

Education:

  • From an accredited institution; Bachelor’s degree required
