Summary

The Finance Transformation Specialist drives finance process improvements and supports execution of the Finance Transformation Roadmap at Amplify Education. This hands-on role focuses on redesigning finance processes, mitigating risks, and enhancing efficiency across the finance organization.

Key Responsibilities: Evaluate, document, and redesign finance-specific and cross-functional processes (Lead to Quote, Order to Cash, Procure to Pay) to identify inefficiencies and control risks. Collaborate with CAO, FP&A, Business Systems, and Data teams to implement improvements, manage light project management activities, and ensure alignment with transformation objectives.
Skills & Tools: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with expertise in financial control risks, compliance requirements, and process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma). Proficiency with ERP/CRM systems, data analysis, excellent communication, and demonstrated ability to translate complex financial concepts for cross-functional stakeholders.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field with 8-10 years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial systems implementation. Proven experience with financial process improvement and transformation initiatives and demonstrated project management capabilities.
Location: Remote - United States
Compensation: Estimated: $110,000 – $140,000/year based on senior specialist role, 8-10 years experience requirement, finance transformation expertise, and remote position at mid-sized education technology company.

The Finance Transformation Specialist is a hands-on role responsible for driving finance process improvements and supporting finance teams in executing the Finance Transformation Roadmap. This role focuses on evaluating and redesigning Finance-specific processes and the financial components of cross-functional business processes with Finance implications. The goal of process improvements is to enhance efficiency, mitigate risks, and align processes with the company’s systems and data strategies. Reporting to the Systems and Process Lead, the Finance Transformation Specialist will collaborate closely with the CAO, FP&A, Business Systems, and Data teams to deliver impactful outcomes.

The major components of the Finance Transformation Roadmap include remediation of known issues and risks, improvement of the overall environment of controls Amplify, and driving the effectiveness and efficiency of the Finance organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Process Evaluation & Redesign:
  • Assess and document existing Finance-specific processes and financial components of cross-functional processes (e.g., Lead to Quote, Order to Cash, Procure to Pay).
  • Identify inefficiencies, control risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Redesign processes to align with Finance Transformation objectives, improving efficiency and ensuring compliance with control and risk frameworks.
  • Collaboration Across Teams:
  • Partner with key stakeholders within the finance function (CAO, FP&A) to align process improvements with financial goals.
  • Work closely with the Business Systems and Data teams to gather requirements for process and system changes, ensuring alignment with system capabilities.
  • Support the development and implementation of new policies and procedures resulting from process enhancements.
  • Support for Finance Transformation Roadmap:
  • Contribute to the execution of the Finance Transformation Roadmap by driving initiatives that align with strategic goals.
  • Ensure finance process redesign aligns with broader transformation efforts and company objectives.
  • System & Data Integration:
  • Collaborate with IT and Business Systems teams to ensure systems are optimized to support process improvements.
  • Leverage financial data insights to support process redesign and to drive informed decision-making.
  • Project Management:
  • Lead or support light project management activities, including tracking deliverables, managing timelines, and communicating updates to stakeholders.
  • Ensure that initiatives stay on track and meet deadlines.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years experience in finance, accounting, or financial systems implementation.
  • 8-10 years of experience with financial process improvement and transformation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of financial control risks, compliance requirements, and process efficiency methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Strong understanding of data and finance systems (ERP, CRM, etc.) and the ability to gather and translate system requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects with a focus on delivering results.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including the ability to clearly explain complex financial concepts and processes to colleagues outside of finance in an easily understandable manner.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and work with senior stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean.
  • Experience in supporting finance transformation initiatives.
  • Expertise in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and financial technology tools.
  • Proficiency in process mapping tools and concepts (e.g., Miro, Visio) with demonstrated ability to create high-level overviews and detailed processes and workflows.
  • Project management PMP or Agile certification.
  • CPA, MBA, or related advanced degree.

Salary is only one component of the Amplify Total Rewards package, which includes a 401(k) plan, competitive health insurance and mental health options, basic life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and access to best-in-class development programs. The gross annualized salary range for this role is $160,000 - $170,000. This role is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus that rewards individual and company performance.
