About the Role
Reporting to the Vice President, People & Employee Experience, the Senior Talent Partner will lead full-cycle recruitment across a broad portfolio of roles at Nelson, with a particular focus on technology, product, and digital roles supporting the company’s continued transformation as an education technology organization.
This role operates as a strategic partner to hiring leaders, owning the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle while helping to shape hiring strategies, improve recruitment operations, and strengthen Nelson’s employer brand. The Senior Talent Partner will leverage modern recruiting tools, data insights, and automation to maintain and improve our hiring processes while delivering an exceptional candidate experience.
The successful candidate is a technologically savvy recruiter who thrives in fast-moving environments, is comfortable managing multiple complex searches simultaneously, and brings strong experience recruiting for technical, SaaS, or product-focused organizations.
Working closely with hiring managers and the People & Engagement team, the Senior Talent Partner will play a key role in ensuring Nelson continues to attract high-impact talent aligned with our mission to create innovative learning experiences for students and educators.
This posting represents an existing vacancy (net new role). This is currently a 6-month contract opportunity with the potential for extension based on successful performance and the future needs of the organization.
Key Accountabilities
- Talent Acquisition:
- Lead full-cycle recruitment across a diverse portfolio of roles, including technology, product, digital, and operational functions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers, guiding interview design and hiring decisions.
- Develop targeted sourcing strategies using multiple channels, including LinkedIn Recruiter, talent communities, referrals, niche platforms, and proactive outreach.
- Build and maintain strong pipelines of qualified candidates for both current and future hiring needs.
- Partner with hiring leaders to drive efficient, equitable, and inclusive hiring processes.
- Deliver a high-touch candidate experience through clear communication, thoughtful engagement, and timely feedback.
- Ensure recruitment practices align with employment legislation, diversity and inclusion commitments, and internal policies.
- Stay informed on industry trends, recruitment technology advancements, as well as legal and regulatory requirements related to talent acquisition.
- Recruitment Operations & Technology
- Leverage modern recruitment technologies (ATS, sourcing tools, automation platforms, and analytics) to streamline and optimize hiring workflows.
- Implement innovative sourcing strategies and recruiting automations to increase efficiency and pipeline quality.
- Maintain accurate applicant tracking data and ensure strong pipeline visibility across all open roles.
- Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes, tools, and workflows to support Nelson’s growing hiring needs.
- Collaborate with the broader P&E team to ensure alignment between recruitment, onboarding, employer branding, and employee experience initiatives.
- Onboarding & Talent Experience
- Partner with the P&E team to support a smooth transition from candidate acceptance to onboarding and beyond.
- Manage technology to communicate with and support new hires through preboarding and onboarding workflows.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure new hires have a strong start and clear integration into their teams.
- Provide input and execute hands-on solutions in onboarding improvements based on candidate feedback and hiring trends.
- 5+ years of experience in talent acquisition, with a strong track record directly managing full-cycle recruitment, is required.
- Demonstrated experience recruiting for technical, product, or SaaS-related roles is strongly preferred.
- Strong experience using modern recruiting technologies, including ATS platforms, sourcing tools, and recruitment automation tools is required. Specific experience with Linkedin Recruiter, Linkedin Hiring Assistant, Workable, or HiBob are considered strong assets.
- Exceptional ability to manage competing priorities and switch tasks quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to partner effectively with senior leaders and hiring managers.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience using recruitment metrics to drive process improvements.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- HR certification (e.g., HRPA) is a plus.

Compensation
The base salary range for this contract full-time position begins at $80,000+ per annum based on experience. Compensation is part of our broader Total Rewards package, which includes benefits and programs that support employee well-being and growth.

Nelson uses AI support tools in our applicant tracking system to help with tasks such as summarizing points and anonymizing applications. All candidate screening, assessments, and hiring decisions are done by people.
