Summary

Join Oxford University Press as an Acquisitions Editor for the Oxford Intersections digital publishing program, a recently launched short-form interdisciplinary research initiative. This leadership role involves identifying, commissioning, and developing new research topics while building visibility of the program within the global scholarly community.

Key Responsibilities: Commission and conceptualize new research publishing topics, nurture relationships with international scholars, manage multiple high-touch projects simultaneously, and serve as a public-facing representative of the Press and Intersections program to enhance its scholarly and public reputation.
Skills & Tools: Strong understanding of publishing processes, contract negotiations, and industry trends; exceptional verbal and written communication skills; research orientation; ability to manage multiple projects; and curiosity about how research is consumed globally.
Qualifications: Minimum 4 years of publishing experience or transferable professional experience from related fields, with knowledge of academic publishing, business and legal aspects of publishing, and excellent communication skills.
Location: New York City, New York
Compensation: $68K–$96K/yr
