Role Snapshot

Youth Mentor and Lunch/Recess Program Facilitator at Elevo Learning who leads elementary and middle school students through structured games and activities infused with social-emotional learning to transform their well-being and engagement in school.

Key Responsibilities: Lead groups of up to 20 students through sports, games, and outdoor lessons based on Elevo curriculum while managing student behavior and collaborating with school staff. Serve as a positive role model, adapt activities based on student needs, and ensure programs run smoothly within allocated timeframes.
Skills & Tools: Strong group management abilities with up to 20 students, ability to improvise and adapt activities, empathy, patience, and confidence in building trust with children. Physical capability to move frequently, stand/sit for long periods, and engage in strenuous activity.
Qualifications: 1-2 years of experience working in education, coaching, child development, or child-focused settings strongly preferred; must be eligible to work in the United States with reliable transportation. Requires passing Live-Scan background check and TB screening.

Youth Mentor and Lunch/Recess Program Facilitator


Schedule: Part-time, 26 hours per week Monday to Friday between 7am-6pm

Location: North Highlands in Twin Rivers USD

Expected Hourly Rate:  $19 per hour

THE ROLE

  • Lead groups of students through structured games based on the Elevo curriculum. 
  • Engage students in sports, games, and other activities. 
  • Supporting kids’ behavioral management needs.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with school administrators, teachers, and fellow coaches.
  • Leading outdoor lessons designed to increase excitement about learning.
  • Serve as a positive role model to the students to build kids’ self-esteem and emotional wellness.


ABOUT YOU

  • Have been successful working with elementary and/or middle school kids.
  • Confidently manage groups of up to 20 students with minimal assistance.
  • Can improvise, adapt, and take initiative when needed.
  • Are approachable, empathetic, patient, and able to build trust with kids.
  • Present yourself as a confident leader and a positive role model.
  • Connect with students and foster positive learning experiences.
  • Pay close attention to student needs and adjust activities accordingly.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, complete and pass a Live-Scan background check, and TB screening.
  • 1-2 years of working experience in education, coaching, child development, or other child-focused experiences strongly preferred.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Willing to follow COVID-19 protocols outlined by the school.
