Role Snapshot
Join Reading Partners as an AmeriCorps Member in Newark, NJ to provide individualized reading support to students and empower young readers through community-focused service from January to June 2026.
Key Responsibilities: Serve full-time in-person providing reading support to students, participating in community engagement activities, and completing 900+ hours of service over the 6-month term, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Skills & Tools: Strong attention to detail, ability to manage competing priorities, willingness to learn technology systems (Salesforce, Google Apps, Zoom), and ability to both collaborate in team environments and work independently.
Qualifications: Must possess a high school diploma or GED, be at least 18 years old, hold U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status, and have not completed more than four AmeriCorps terms. Prior service with AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, or community/education volunteer experience is a bonus.
Location: Newark, New Jersey
Compensation: From $15K/yr
