Role Snapshot
Join Reading Partners New York as an AmeriCorps Member to provide individualized literacy interventions supporting young readers to achieve grade-level reading by fourth grade. This full-time, 6-month service position offers intensive training and the opportunity to make a lasting community impact.
Key Responsibilities: Serve full-time (900+ hours) in-person providing individualized reading support to students and participate in ongoing training and professional development. Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, collaborating with school and partner sites across the region.
Skills & Tools: Strong attention to detail, ability to manage competing priorities, and proficiency in learning technology systems such as Salesforce, Google Apps, and Zoom. Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills with ability to work independently.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status, and at least 18 years old at service start. Prior experience with national service, Peace Corps, or community-based/education volunteering is a plus.
