About SchoolOps

SchoolOps is the leading provider of operations professional learning and services for schools and education organizations nationwide. SchoolOps engages top experts and specialists around the country to provide training and solve problems in key school operations domains such as enrollment, facilities, food service, transportation, and compliance. With a proven track record of national success, SchoolOps has trained hundreds of Operations leaders around the country. Our team believes that excellent operations are a core driver of student success, and is committed to ensuring every school has access to national best practices, proven tools and templates, and expert guidance to build strong operational foundations for sustainable schools.

The Role

SchoolOps is looking to engage with candidates who have a wide range of experiences and expertise so that we can staff every project with exactly the right person. Our team is currently executing and pursuing projects with organizations at all levels of the charter and traditional school world - individual schools, small and large CMOs, districts, regional support organizations, and state education agencies.

In this role, you will work closely with the SchoolOps team to facilitate operations professional development sessions for these organizations. This is a contracted 1099 role to be staffed on individual projects - being approved for contract work with SchoolOps does not guarantee the availability of a project. The role is not full time and does not provide benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Internalize session content provided to you by the SchoolOps team
  • Adhere closely to a detailed facilitation guide while also also incorporating your facilitation style and making light facilitation adaptations, as needed.
  • Prepare for professional development session facilitation by practicing with the SchoolOps team and integrating detailed feedback into your presentation.
  • Facilitate high quality professional development sessions both in-person and remotely
  • Manage session facilitation logistics, both in person and on Zoom (for in-person sessions, this may include some light ops support, such as distributing lunch orders or cleaning up the room at the close of the session)
  • For in-person sessions, manage your own travel logistics such that you are on-time, composed, and well-prepared for session facilitation.

Location

This is both a remote and in-person role, as we provide PD both remotely via Zoom and in-person in the geographies we serve. Travel is required if facilitating in-person sessions, and slight preference will be given to candidates who are willing and able to facilitate both remote and in-person sessions.

Skills and Experience

  • Candidates have at least three years of experience working in a director-level operations role in K-12 education
  • Principals, assistant principals, and others who may not have “operations” in their job title but oversaw significant operational workstreams are encouraged to apply.
  • Candidates have previous experience facilitating professional development sessions for adult learners, ideally for an audience of school operations professionals
  • Candidates demonstrate strong school operations content knowledge on a variety of topics
  • Candidates can give and receive high quality feedback very frequently
  • Candidates have deep knowledge of adult learning best practices
  • Candidates can present professional development content in a clear and engaging manner
  • Candidates can create a warm and professional learning environment where participants feel comfortable asking questions and getting to know each other
  • Candidates are excellent verbal and written communicators, capable of teaching and leading operational learners with care and emotional intelligence
  • Candidates have an understanding of the importance of anti-racist and inclusion-centered practices in education.

Compensation

Applicants will be offered an hourly rate ($110-125), a half-day onsite rate ($600-650), and/or a full-day onsite rate ($1,000-1,100) based on their experience.

This is a contracted 1099 role to be staffed on individual projects - being approved for contract work with SchoolOps does not guarantee the availability of a project. The role is not full time and does not provide benefits.
