Accessibility Specialist responsible for conducting comprehensive accessibility audits of digital content and web applications to ensure compliance with WCAG, ADA, and Section 508 standards. Provides remediation guidance to help organizations achieve and maintain digital accessibility.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct accessibility audits on websites, applications, ePubs, PDFs, MS Office files, and diagrams using WCAG 2.2 and related standards; test with assistive technologies including screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VO, TalkBack); create detailed audit reports with findings and remediation recommendations; stay current on accessibility regulations and compliance requirements.
Skills & Tools: Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.2, ADA, Section 508, and accessibility standards; proficiency with accessibility tools (Axe, Lighthouse, WAVE) and assistive technologies; moderate knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, ARIA); excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with technical and non-technical teams.
Qualifications: Minimum 2+ years of accessibility audit experience required; strong understanding of WCAG 2.2, ADA, Section 508, and related accessibility standards. Preferred experience working in eLearning domains.
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $65,000 – $85,000/year based on title, seniority, and mid-market company size.
