The job details are as follows:

This internship is anything but ordinary. If that’s what you’re looking for, keep reading. We are seeking a Software Engineer Intern for our internship program. This role will perform software development tasks commensurate with skills and experience. Develop new features for OCLC members. Modify existing software such as enhancing user interface. Dates for the internship will be from May 18, 2026, to April 23, 2027, working full time during the summer and part-time during the school year (up to 15 hours/week). This role offers a hybrid work environment with three days in-office at our headquarters in Dublin, Ohio.

Responsibilities:

  • Youwill be part of an experienced team of software developers whofrequentlyrelease enhancements and new products for use by OCLC libraries and will see their work used in production services.
  • Use industry standard programming techniques to translate requirements and designs into code.
  • Analyze and solve problems in existing systems.
  • Design, code, and test multiple modules of a systemin a timely manner.
  • Participates in unit, system, and acceptance testing by designing tests, building test data, testexecutionand evaluation, along with recommending/making improvements/fixes to the tested system.
  • Assistsin developing and interpreting requirements.

Requirements:

  • Candidates mustbe currentlyenrolled as students at the time of the internship. 
  • Degree-seeking college student enrolled asJunioror Senior pursuing major in Computer Science or related degree.
  • Completion of first-level engineering courses.
  • Coding skills in Javahighlydesirable. Experience with J2EE, XML/JSON, TestNG/JUnit, Groovy, scripting (e.g.Perl, JavaScript), Angular, or React a plus.
  • Understanding of Database design principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytic skills.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team environment.
