In-person Insurance Instructor - San Antonio, TX Area
Job Description
Kaplan is seeking San Antonio-based individuals interested in facilitating insurance exam preparation courses for Lines Agents and Casualty Adjusters. Classes will be held 3-5 days a week, beginning as early as 8:00 AM and ending before 6:00 PM CST. Instructors must be comfortable with both in-person and virtual instruction. Comprehensive training will be provided and compensated.
As a Kaplan Insurance Licensing Instructor you will:
- Demonstrate excellent teaching skills and the ability to engage students through in-person and virtual classroom instruction.
- Serve as an industry expert and Kaplan brand ambassador for our clients and students.
- Focus on mentoring and driving student success by tailoring your teaching approach to individual students’ learning styles
- Deliver instruction based on a pre-prepared lesson plans and syllabi
- Communicate regularly with product line management and operations departments to stay informed of scheduling changes, curriculum updates, and class assignments.
Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years industry experience as a property and casualty agent or adjuster.
- Previous teaching or training experience preferred, but not required.
- Completion of a post-secondary degree preferred, or equivalent professional designation
- Ability to travel by car to onsite teaching locations
- The role requires both standing and sitting for extended periods, often up to 8 hours, with limited breaks.
- Candidates should be able to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects as needed.
- Ability to effectively utilize technology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Adaptability to new teaching methods and alteration in course materials as needed.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and approachability.
- Preferred but not required: 1. Texas Personal Lines Agent, 2. Texas General Lines Property and Casualty Agent, 3. Texas Property and Casualty Adjuster, or 4. Texas All Lines Adjuster
- Reliable transportation is essential for meeting training and job requirements
