General Job Description:
Under the direction of the Supply Chain Operations Director, the Contracts and Procurement Manager manages, supervises, and coordinates the activities within the procure to pay process and vendor contract lifecycle, including demand planning. Contracts and Procurement plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services to support business operations.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet organizational objectives.
- Conducts vendor product research; determines availability of products; and reviews new products and evaluates substitutions.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and provide strategic guidance.
- Evaluate and select suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Prepares RFP/RFQ documentation based on business and compliance specifications.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve favorable agreements for the organization.
- Monitor and assess supplier performance, addressing any issues or discrepancies.
- Stay informed about market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Provide regular reports and updates on procurement activities to management.
- Maintains vendor contract files following policies and procedures as well as contract terms and conditions.
Position Requirements (Skills, Knowledge, Abilities):
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Proven experience in procurement, with a focus on strategic sourcing and supplier management.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with procurement software and systems.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Work with product safety manager to establish vendor safety compliance documentation and establish risk protocol management.
Physical Requirements:
- The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include Close vision and Distance vision.
- Auditory/hearing abilities required to hear others using a phone or online conferencing system.
- Regular use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Regular walking and sitting for prolonged periods.
Hours: This is an exempt position with standard office hours. However, occasional overtime may be necessary per business needs.
