Summary

Key Responsibilities: Lead international tax planning and structuring for M&A and cross-border investments, own ASC 740 provision calculations including GILTI and Subpart F, and manage U.S. international tax compliance and information reporting. Monitor tax legislative developments, support transfer pricing policies, and serve as a technical resource for audits and special projects.
Skills & Tools: Expertise in U.S. international tax rules, ASC 740, GILTI, Subpart F, foreign tax credits, and transfer pricing. Proficiency in preparing international information returns (Forms 5471, 8858) and strong analytical and communication abilities to partner across Finance, Accounting, Legal, and cross-functional teams.
Qualifications: 6+ years of U.S. international tax experience, preferably with Big 4 or multinational companies, including demonstrated experience with international tax rules and information returns. CPA license, JD, or Master's in Taxation preferred; OECD Pillar Two and SaaS/tech industry experience are valuable additions.
Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, California or fully remote within the United States

The tax team is a collaborative, high-impact group within Finance that partners closely with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, and cross-functional leaders. As our International Tax Manager, you will play a key role in shaping Figma’s global tax strategy and compliance posture as we continue to scale internationally. This role will influence cross-border structuring, global expansion, and financial reporting, ensuring we grow thoughtfully and compliantly.

This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States. 


What you’ll do at Figma:

  • Lead U.S. international tax planning and structuring initiatives, including M&A transactions, cross-border investments, expansion into new jurisdictions, and OECD Pillar Two readiness
  • Own U.S. international tax provision calculations under ASC 740, including GILTI, Subpart F, foreign tax credits, and related international components of quarterly and annual reporting
  • Lead U.S. international tax compliance and information reporting (e.g., Forms 5471, 8858, 8991–8993, 1118), partnering with external advisors to ensure accurate and timely filings
  • Be responsible for intercompany transactions and global transfer pricing policies to support compliance and operational efficiency
  • Monitor global tax legislative developments, model potential impacts, and communicate recommendations to finance leadership and cross-functional partners
  • Support tax-efficient repatriation strategies and other international tax planning initiatives
  • Serve as a technical resource for audits, special projects, and cross-functional tax matter

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • 6+ years of U.S. international tax experience, including Big 4 and/or in-house experience at a multinational company
  • Demonstrated experience applying ASC 740 and U.S. international tax rules (e.g., GILTI, Subpart F, foreign tax credits, transfer pricing) in a multinational environment
  • Experience preparing or reviewing U.S. international information returns, including Forms 5471 and 8858
  • Experience preparing or reviewing international components of quarterly and annual tax provisions

While not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:

  • Experience with OECD Pillar Two modeling, readiness, or implementation
  • Experience in a SaaS, technology, or high-growth company
  • Public company experience
  • Master’s in Taxation, CPA license, JD, or LLM
