About the position
Reporting to the Vice President, People Experience, the Director, People Experience owns the full team member life cycle from a day-to-day perspective – employee relations, talent management, compensation & benefits, learning & development, HR systems and analytics, and Racial Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (REDI).
This person will build relationships with every team member across the organization to ensure each person feels engaged and invested. The Director will use data to identify gaps in our processes for continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and passionate about nurturing our people and building processes for maximum productivity and retention.
Responsibilities and duties
1. Functional Leadership:
- In partnership with the Vice President, People Experience, implement the People Experience Strategy in alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Partner with organizational leadership to implement organizational development, workforce planning, and change management initiatives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence in people operations practices.
2. Employee Relations:
- Oversee employee relations programs and initiatives to promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Manage complex employee relations issues and guide managers and employees.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and company policies.
3. Talent Management:
- Lead the talent acquisition process to attract, select, and retain top talent.
- Develop and implement effective onboarding programs to ensure seamless integration of new hires.
- Oversee performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and development plans.
4. Compensation and Benefits:
- Manage competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain talent.
- Conduct market analyses every two years to ensure compensation practices are competitive and equitable.
- Oversee the administration of employee benefits and wellness programs.
5. Learning and Development:
- Develop and implement learning and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
- Identify training needs and create development plans for employees at all levels.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
6. HR Systems and Analytics:
- Oversee the implementation and management of HR systems and technologies to improve efficiency and data accuracy.
- Utilize HR analytics to provide insights and support decision-making.
- Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of HR data and records.
7. Compliance and Policies
- Oversee PX compliance for the organization, ensuring the proper processes are in place and followed for all required forms and documentation (I-9, tax forms, and benefits enrollment)
- Stay current on employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance
- Support audits and compliance reviews as necessary
- Stay current on labor laws and regulations to ensure the organization's policies and practices remain compliant
- Collaborate with PX leadership to develop, update, and communicate company policies and procedures
8. Racial Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (REDI):
- Champion DEI initiatives and integrate them into all people operations strategies and practices.
- Develop programs and policies to promote a diverse and inclusive workplace.
- Monitor and report on DEI metrics and progress.

Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, psychology, or a related field preferred
- 10+ years of experience in HR/People Operations, with leadership experience a plus
- Experienced working with/supporting hybrid organizations a plus
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulations
- Proven ability to implement people operations strategies and initiatives
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
- Proficiency in HRIS and HR analytics
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CPLP, SHRM-CP, or equivalent) a plus
- Proficiency in HRIS, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite required. ADP Workforce Now required and Asana preferred

- Approximately 25% travel required
Position details
This is an exempt position with a salary range of $88,000 - $150,000 (min-max). StriveTogether offers competitive salary and benefits, commensurate with experience and skills. This position will be a hybrid role based in our Cincinnati office.
