Summary

The LAUSD Math Tutor provides instruction to small groups of students in the Los Angeles area with a focus on closing the achievement gap and building academic foundations. The role aims to foster student academic growth and success through collaborative work with local schools.

Key Responsibilities: Deliver small group math instruction, conduct student goal-setting conferences, collect and analyze academic data, and maintain accurate PLI documentation. Communicate regularly with school staff, parents, and PLI management while motivating daily student attendance.

Summary: 

The LAUSD Math Tutor will work in collaboration with our Los Angeles area schools. The tutor is responsible for instruction in small groups with a focus on closing the achievement gap and building a stronger academic foundation. 

 

Education and Experience: 

  1. Experience working with students either as a teacher, tutor or as a resource personnel
  2. Understand the need for accurate PLI record keeping and documentation in a timely manner
  3. Providing small group instruction
  4. Setting and maintaining high expectations for students
  5. Executing student goal-setting conferences
  6. Collecting and analyzing data
  7. Building relationships with students in service of their academic growth
  8. Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
  9. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  10. Growth mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  11. Dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  12. Ability to motivate students daily attendance
  13. Communicate with PLI management, school staff, and parents.
  14. Adhere to all Proximity Learning, Inc timelines and expectations

Must live in the Los Angeles, CA area

This is an on site position

Must have own Transportation

Be willing to work 9 hours per week
