About the role:
The Content Development Specialist is responsible for supporting the assessment, development, and delivery of content, as well as assisting with resourcing our preproduction services. This role will work closely with Managing Editorial, Acquisitions Editorial, and Vendor Management teams. Reporting to the Content Development Manager and working closely with the rest of the Content Development team, the holder of this role will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of content across our Trade publishing programs. The CDS is responsible for making sure that adequate resources are in place to support our publishing programing requirements. This role spans Operations, Editorial, and Publishing functions with a focus on collaboration with Vendor Management and requires someone who has an interest in working across all these areas.
How you will make an impact:
· Manage CDWC hiring for Trade freelance DEs.
· Track expenses and report quarterly to Manager, Content Development.
· Serve as resource for Trade Managing Editors and Acquisitions Editors. Ensure Trade DEs are reporting status of projects as required.
· Review of incoming manuscripts to check for acceptability.
· Ensure documentation needed for freelancers is being updated. This is a continuous process.
· Spearhead creation of a consistent archiving process for Trade and Dummies. Work with Manager, Content Development to create a consistent file delivery process that is accessible to Wiley and freelancers.
· Manage and track technical editing and peer review hiring for Trade.
