Job Description:
The Literacy Researcher is responsible for conducting thorough and systematic research of authentic Spanish texts for Amplify’s SLA grade 6 curriculum. This role involves identifying, organizing, and synthesizing relevant information from various sources such as databases, journals, books, and online resources. The Literacy Researcher collaborates closely with product managers, content leads and fellow researchers, to ensure the delivery of high-quality and well-curated information.
The expected duration for this Contract role is approximately 1 month, with possible extension.
Essential responsibilities:
Literature Search and Review:
- Perform comprehensive searches across academic databases, online repositories, and libraries
- Use advanced search techniques, including keywords, and subject indexing, to locate relevant materials.
Data Collection and Organization:
- Extract and organize data, abstracts, citations, and references from identified sources.
Analysis and Synthesis:
- Critically evaluate the quality, relevance, and credibility of the retrieved information.
- Summarize key findings in written or visual formats, such as reports, annotated bibliographies, or presentations.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with researchers, writers, and project managers to define search objectives and refine strategies.
- Communicate progress and provide updates on ongoing literature reviews.
Quality Assurance:
- Adhere to ethical standards and best practices in conducting literature reviews.
- Ensure compliance with copyright laws and proper citation practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA in Education, Spanish, or Bilingual Education, with strong content background in Spanish literary genres and critical analysis
- 2+ years Spanish and/or Bilingual elementary education experience, with particular strength developing and implementing a wide range of engagement and grouping strategies in the classroom
- Native or advanced proficiency in Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and balance work on multiple projects
- Ability to critically appraise and synthesize information from diverse sources.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to present findings effectively.
- High level of precision in documentation and organization of information.
Compensation:
The hourly rate range for this role is $30.
