Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a seasoned and forward-thinking Senior Full Stack Engineer with deep expertise in PHP, modern frontend development using jQuery, HTML5, and CSS3, and performance-oriented PostgreSQL design. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering high-quality software solutions within a collaborative Scrum team. Beyond hands-on coding, mentoring junior engineers, and driving technical excellence across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with Team Lead on the design, development, and architecture of backend services using PHP (Slim).
- Build and refine responsive, accessible, and performant UIs using jQuery, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
- Optimize PostgreSQL queries and schemas for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Help guide technical planning, code reviews, and best practice adoption across the team.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous learning.
- Contribute to the evolution of our coding standards, design principles, and DevOps pipelines.
- Ensure the quality, security, and observability of services through automated testing, monitoring, and CI/CD practices.
- Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies and help evolve team processes for better velocity and delivery.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in PHP development, including expertise in the Slim framework.
- Strong proficiency in frontend technologies including JavaScript (especially jQuery), HTML5, and CSS3.
- Proven experience designing and optimizing large PostgreSQL databases and queries.
- Deep understanding of RESTful APIs and distributed web application architecture.
- Experience in leading projects, setting technical direction, and making architectural decisions.
- Proficiency with version control (Git), agile workflows, and collaborative development environments.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and mentoring skills.
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have):
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives.
- Familiarity with Docker and containerized application development.
- Exposure to Kubernetes-based deployment and orchestration.
- Proficiency in AWS services such as S3, SQS, SES, and Lambda.
- Experience working with design tools like Figma in a product-led development team.
Normal Working Hours and Conditions: Core business hours are generally 8:00 am – 5:00 pm ET, but we do accommodate those who work out of other time zones. This position can require work to be performed outside of normal business hours based on Company operations and when working with offshore teams. This position will require travel 1 or 2 times per year with an expectation of 1 to 5 overnight stays.
Physical Requirements: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting including verbally communicating, seeing and hearing to exchange information and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard. Daily physical functions include standing, sitting and walking for prolonged periods of time and occasionally stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting. The employee may engage in lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling light to moderate amounts of weight up to 25 pounds. The position also requires the operation of office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement.
