Role Snapshot
Senior Editor at Flatiron Books responsible for acquiring and editing 6-10 commercial fiction titles annually while collaborating closely with authors throughout the publishing process. This role contributes to all aspects of book development from acquisition through marketing and publicity.
Skills & Tools: 5+ years publishing experience with strong editing skills at line and developmental levels, excellent literary agent contacts, and proven negotiating abilities. Must demonstrate public speaking proficiency, ability to write compelling copy, and capacity to meet strict deadlines.
Qualifications: 5+ years in publishing or equivalent experience required with extensive knowledge of publishing workflow and familiarity with commercial and upmarket book club fiction markets. College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Location: New York, New York
Compensation: $80K–$85K/yr
