Director of Training & Workforce Development
Valley View Health CenterRole Snapshot
Director of Training & Workforce Development will build and lead comprehensive training systems and strategies across Valley View Health Center's clinical and non-clinical operations. This role focuses on creating standardized, scalable frameworks and driving organizational consistency rather than direct classroom facilitation.
Job Description
Director of Training & Workforce Development
Build the systems that set people—and patients—up for success.
At Valley View Health Center, our mission is simple and powerful: improving health and wellbeing in our communities. Behind that mission is a team of dedicated professionals who rely on strong onboarding, consistent training, and clear expectations to do their best work every day.
We are seeking a Director of Training & Workforce Development to build, lead, and continuously improve how training happens across our organization. This is not a traditional training role. You won’t be the primary facilitator. Instead, you will create the structure, systems, and accountability that ensure training is done well—every time, across every role, all while rolling up your sleeves to provide support!
If you are someone who sees inconsistency and immediately thinks, “we can build a better system for this,” this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Build Structure & Drive Consistency
- Design and lead a comprehensive onboarding and training strategy across clinical and non-clinical roles
- Create standardized, scalable training frameworks that ensure a consistent employee experience
- across locations
- Establish clear processes, expectations, and accountability for how training is delivered
Lead Through Others
- Lead and develop (directly or as a dotted line) a team of training administrators and subject matter experts (SMEs) in developing and/or delivering training content
- Ensure training is effectively delivered across:
Medical (CMAs, CNAs)
Dental (Dental Assistants)
Patient Access (Front Office, Receptionist, Referrals, Call Center)
- Build capability in your team to deliver high-quality, consistent training
Own the Training Engine (Not the Classroom)
- Coordinate training schedules, priorities, and execution across the organization
- Ensure onboarding and ongoing training are organized, efficient, and completed on time
- Bring clarity and structure to a fast-moving, operational environment
Strengthen Workforce Pipelines (Apprenticeships/Externships)
- Lead and coordinate apprenticeship programs that support hard-to-fill roles
- Partner with Service Line Administrators to maintain school partnerships and program agreements
- Ensure all documentation, contracts, and program requirements are completed accurately and on time
- Monitor apprentice and externship progress, competency completion, and program success
- Ensure employees understand apprenticeship agreements, including post-program commitments
Drive Improvement Through Data
- Develop and track metrics such as:
Time to productivity
Training completion rates
Quality and performance outcomes
- Use insights to continuously improve training effectiveness and operational impact
Partner Across the Organization
- Work closely with Operations, HR, and department leaders
- Support training needs for providers, IT, business office and pharmacy
- Partner with Chief Administrative Officer on required compliance training
- Play a key role in onboarding, system changes, and process rollouts
What Success Looks Like
- New hires are consistently set up for success from day one
- Training is no longer dependent on location or individual style—it is reliable and repeatable
- Leaders trust that employees are trained, prepared, and ready
- Apprenticeship and externship programs produce strong, retained talent
- Training is seen as a strategic advantage, not a gap
What You Bring
- 8+ years of experience in training program management, operations, or workforce development in a corporate environment
- Proven ability to build structure, systems, and scalable processes
- Experience leading teams and driving accountability through others
- Strong program and project management skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority
- Analytical mindset—comfortable using data to drive decisions
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Healthcare experience is extremely helpful but not required.
We value operational thinkers who can learn the environment.
