Position Description: The University of Louisville is seeking to hire a Temporary Research Engineer. Join a concentrated, full-time research project focused on simulating and validating blood flow through arterial geometries. This is a temporary 3 month appointment. Essential Duties and responsibilities Operate a benchtop flow-validation system relevant to arterial-flow and RTD measurements. Set up, run, and document CFD simulations of blood flow in arterial geometries. Fit model parameters to experimental and/or clinical data; assess goodness of fit, uncertainty, and sensitivity of key assumptions. Maintain organized records of simulation settings, experimental conditions, data-processing steps, and results. Preferred Qualifications BS degree in chemical engineering or an equivalent field, such as bioengineering, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a closely related discipline with substantial fluids and transport preparation. Experience with CFD simulation and post-processing using ANSYS Fluent. Ability to work carefully with experimental hardware, data-acquisition methods, pumps, tubing, sensors, tracers, or related laboratory equipment.
