Role Snapshot
Provide personalized 1:1 in-home tutoring for elementary students with autism in La Quinta, CA, delivering tailored instruction based on IEPs and supporting their academic and emotional growth.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct academic assessments, deliver direct instruction in literacy, math, and writing, support emotional regulation and behavior management, and coordinate with caregivers to align instruction with IEP goals.
Skills & Tools: Experience working with children with autism or developmental differences, knowledge of evidence-based reading instruction approaches (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, structured literacy), skilled in emotional regulation support and behavior management, patient and creative with ability to model positive coping strategies, bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
Qualifications: Special education experience and proven track record working with special needs children required; knowledge of structured literacy approaches and ability to remain calm and consistent under pressure essential.
Location: In-Person Tutoring in La Quinta, California
Compensation: $25–$35/hr
