Role Snapshot
Part-time Adoption Counselor at Gifford Cat Shelter in Brighton, MA, responsible for facilitating cat adoptions and matching felines with suitable families. The role supports the shelter's mission as a no-kill haven by ensuring successful, long-term pet placements.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct adoption interviews, process applications and fees, provide pet care education, and maintain accurate records of animals and adoptions. Support community outreach events, assist with basic animal care, and provide post-adoption follow-up and support.
Skills & Tools: Strong customer service and communication abilities with compassion for animals and understanding of animal behavior. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment for matching pets to families.
Qualifications: Passion for cats and demonstrated understanding of feline behavior and care. No specific education or prior experience explicitly required; mature and responsible individuals are sought.
