Role Snapshot
Developmental Learning Specialist providing personalized, one-on-one in-home tutoring to PreK-Elementary students with special needs in Foster City, CA. Help students with autism, ADHD, and other developmental challenges achieve academic and social-emotional goals through tailored instruction aligned with their IEPs.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver individualized instruction in early literacy and math, support functional communication development using visual and language-based strategies, and incorporate social-emotional learning activities. Conduct initial assessments, implement hands-on lessons, provide sensory breaks, collaborate with families on goal-setting, and model calm self-regulation to support student engagement and behavior.
Skills & Tools: Extensive experience with special education, knowledge of sensory supports, visual learning tools, and behavior regulation strategies. Strong ability to design and implement play-based and structured lessons with excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with families and other professionals.
Qualifications: Preferred background in special education, speech/language development, or child development. Experience working with students with autism and ADHD in special education settings is highly valued.
Location: Foster City, California
Compensation: $25–$35/hr
