Role Snapshot
6-month paid Machine Learning Resident position with Hines Health Services Inc. to develop AI-powered medical workforce platform using NLP and LLMs for job matching and medical staffing. Opportunity to work with world-class scientists and potentially transition to permanent employment with the client.
Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, optimize, and evaluate NLP models; prepare and enhance datasets for training; conduct applied research; and support model deployment using ML frameworks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage in knowledge transfer with the client team.
Skills & Tools: Expertise in machine learning with focus on NLP and LLM techniques; proficiency in Python and ML libraries; basic understanding of classical statistics. Familiarity with unstructured data and software engineering best practices preferred.
Qualifications: MSc. or PhD in Computer Science or related field with demonstrated experience in machine learning. Experience with unstructured data and software engineering best practices strongly preferred.
Location: Edmonton, Alberta
Compensation: CA$60K–CA$90K/yr
