The IU School of Nursing in Indianapolis seeks an open-rank, non-tenure-track Research Scientist to support its growing portfolio of externally funded research and collaborate with faculty on grant-funded projects. The role strengthens the school's research mission in areas including serious illness care, health promotion, chronic condition management, and community health systems.

Key Responsibilities: The Research Scientist will lead and collaborate on externally funded research projects with IUSON faculty, including designing, conducting, and supporting large grants and contracts. The role also involves contributing to research dissemination through presentations and publications.
Skills & Tools: Strong skills in leading and collaborating on externally funded research, grant development, and research project implementation are required, along with the ability to work collaboratively with faculty. Evidence of sustained research dissemination through presentations and publications is also expected.
Qualifications: A PhD in Nursing or a closely related field is required, with postdoctoral training preferred. Candidates must demonstrate a track record of securing external grant funding and managing large research projects.
Compensation: $140K–$200K/yr (estimated)

Position Summary

The Indiana University School of Nursing seeks an open rank Research Scientist to support a growing portfolio of funded research focused on our areas of research excellence: Serious Illness Care, Prevention and Health Promotion, Quality of Life and Chronic Condition Management, and Community and Health Systems. This position will play a key role in supporting the School’s research mission and will work collaboratively with IUSON faculty to lead and collaborate on externally-funded research projects.

Basic Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
-PhD (Nursing or closely related/complementary field)
-Prior post-doctoral training preferred
-Demonstrated experience in designing, conducting, implementing, and/or supporting large, externally-funded research projects
-Evidence of sustained research dissemination (presentations, publications, etc.)
-Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate on externally funded grants, contracts, and other research initiatives.
-Demonstrated success in obtaining external grant funding.
