Role Snapshot
ECC Specialist providing virtual coaching to a high school student with regressive vision on independence, self-advocacy, and life skills. The role focuses on bridging the "Life Gap" by empowering the student to thrive socially and professionally through virtual instruction.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver virtual instruction across nine areas of the Expanded Core Curriculum with emphasis on self-determination, self-advocacy, and social skills. Teach non-visual organizational strategies, assistive technology management, and career education while supporting the student through visual transition.
Skills & Tools: Strong background in Visual Impairment education or Rehabilitation Counseling with deep knowledge of the ECC framework. Engaging virtual presence with ability to build rapport, teach soft skills, and foster self-advocacy through a screen.
Qualifications: Background in VI education or Rehabilitation Counseling required. Deep understanding of the ECC framework and demonstrated experience building online rapport preferred.
Location: California
Compensation: $45K–$65K/yr
