Role Snapshot
Lead the University of Tennessee's Research Computing Cluster and provide strategic direction to enhance computational research capabilities across all UT campuses. This executive role manages a team delivering high-performance computing services while aligning with the university's research priorities and HPC, Cloud, and AI initiatives.
Key Responsibilities: Execute strategic vision for research computing, collaborate with faculty to identify emerging computational needs, drive service improvements, and lead grant proposal submissions for computing infrastructure. Build strong partnerships with researchers, assist in proposal development, and foster an engaged community of researchers through effective communication.
Skills & Tools: Excellent interpersonal and leadership capabilities with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in research computing systems and software with experience in high-performance computing environments and personnel management.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Minimum 10 years of experience in research computing with a strong focus on high-performance environments and personnel management.
Location: Knoxville, Tennessee
Compensation: $130Kβ$160K/yr
