This remote Social Media Specialist role supports student engagement and institutional growth at K12/Stride by managing social media platforms across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube for virtual K-12 schools. The position bridges communication between students, families, teachers, and administration while driving enrollment, attendance, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities: Manage and grow social media platforms to increase enrollment interest, family engagement, and brand awareness; develop and execute social media campaigns supporting enrollment, attendance, testing participation, and community outreach; maintain content calendars and ensure timely communication of school events, deadlines, and organizational announcements.
Skills & Tools: Social media management, digital marketing strategy, content creation and storytelling, audience engagement, campaign coordination, and proficiency with multiple social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube). Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently, and proficiency with scheduling and analytics tools are essential.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required with 0-1 year of related professional marketing or social media experience. Preference for residency in Missouri or surrounding states, though position is fully remote.
Location: In-Person - 2 Locations
Compensation: $35K–$50K/yr (estimated)

Job Description Marketing/Branding focuses on managing or performing work across multiple areas including: Product/Brand Marketing: defining targeted customer segments and associated messaging; developing marketing strategies and plans; Product/Brand Management (P&L Accountability): managing the product/brand; P&L Advertising & Promotion: creating or coordinating the production and distribution of advertising and promotional materials; Marketing Research & Analysis: gathering and analyzing marketplace trends and customer data. Bachelor’s degree, 0-1 year of related professional experience Residency Requirements: This position is virtual but does prefer residents in Missouri or surrounding states. Summary: This remote Social Media Specialist position is responsible for supporting student engagement through regular social media interaction on Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, and youtube as well as student conferences/meetings, parent training, and coaching to address both student daily attendance engagement social-emotional engagement. This is a full-time REMOTE position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 8-5pm or as defined by the school. Serve as a liaison between students, Learning Coaches and teachers and/or administration; Managed and grew social media platforms to increase student enrollment interest, family engagement, and brand awareness across multiple digital channels. Collaborated with school leadership, teachers, and marketing teams to develop campaigns supporting enrollment, attendance, testing participation, and community outreach initiatives. Maintained content calendars and ensured timely communication of school events, deadlines, policy updates, and organizational announcements. Increased follower growth, engagement rates, and digital campaign performance through strategic storytelling and audience-focused communication initiatives. Responded professionally to comments, messages, and community inquiries while maintaining the organization’s brand voice and customer service standards. Supported crisis communication and urgent school messaging through coordinated digital communication strategies across social media platforms. Created and scheduled engaging content including graphics, videos, student highlights, school announcements, and event promotions aligned to organizational goals. Provide outreach, training, and support to families who respond to Students First Check In surveys; Increase professional knowledge and skills by attending required staff meetings; participating in school and K12 sponsored Professional Development, and seeking other professional learning opportunities. Participate in State testing as required Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities. MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: One to Three (3) years of experience working with social media platforms Strong written and verbal communication skills Video editing skills on social media platforms Experience engaging with content on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Excellent problem-solving skills Organizations skills, multi-tasking abilities Customer service focus Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced work environment Experience coordinating academically oriented clubs and extra-curricular activities Familiarity with the online learning experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); Web proficiency Ability to travel 20% of the time Ability to clear required background check DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Some college Training others through social media and or education degree or mass communication degree Experience supporting adults and children in learning and the use of technology An ability to learn new technology tools quickly (e.g. database and web-based tools) WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
