Role Snapshot
The Assistant Vice President for State Relations leads Fordham University's government relations and advocacy efforts with New York state decision-makers. The role amplifies the university's presence to advance its mission through strategic engagement with the Governor's office, State Legislature, and regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities: Serve as the primary contact with state decision-makers, develop and implement strategic advocacy initiatives, and manage legislative relationships to benefit the university. Collaborate with internal partners across multiple offices to advance Fordham's agenda and ensure implementation of strategic vision.
Skills & Tools: Strong knowledge of higher education policy, government relations, legislative processes, and grassroots mobilization combined with excellent interpersonal communication and advocacy campaign management abilities.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of six years of executive or legislative experience and strong management skills; a Master's degree is preferred.
Location: New York, New York
Compensation: $160Kβ$175K/yr
