Role Snapshot
The Senior Director of Advanced Systems leads Princeton University's high-performance computing (HPC) initiatives, overseeing the design, deployment, and maintenance of centralized HPC systems while ensuring alignment with campus research needs and emerging technology trends.
Key Responsibilities: Provides technical leadership for computational research across departments, monitors HPC and AI/ML technology trends, manages team dynamics, spearheads HPC system design and deployment, and balances institutional investment with campus demand to support world-class research.
Skills & Tools: Expertise in high-performance computing systems, SLURM, Linux system administration, networking, strategic planning, vendor relationship management, and current knowledge of data science, machine learning, deep learning, and AI technologies.
Qualifications: Advanced degree in computer science, engineering, or related field with substantial experience leading technical teams in academic or research computing environments; familiarity with HPC cluster management and research computing support is preferred.
Location: Princeton, New Jersey
Compensation: $130K–$200K/yr
