The Envision Education Teacher Residency at Alder GSE offers a unique opportunity to earn a Master’s Degree and Teaching Credential in one year while being mentored in a supportive environment focused on social justice and equity. Candidates are invited to apply to become teacher residents, with priority hiring for full-time positions upon completion.
Responsibilities: Residents will engage in a full year of teaching residency while pursuing their Master’s Degree and Teaching Credential, and prepare for priority hiring within Envision Education.
Skills: Preferred candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree and a GPA of 2.65 or above; applicants with lower GPAs are still encouraged to apply.
Qualifications: Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States and be expected to complete their Bachelor’s degree by July 2026, with a focus on specific subjects like Special Education, Math, Science, English, or Social Science.
Location: Bay Area, CA, specifically in cities like Oakland, Hayward, and San Francisco.
Compensation: $47500 / Annually

This Fall, Envision is recruiting a cohort of teacher residents for the Envision Education Teacher Residency. This is an innovative and affordable pathway to a full-time teaching career in our community. Residents earn their Master’s Degree and Teaching Credential in just one year through the Alder Graduate School of Education, while joining a supportive, mentor-based program with an emphasis on social justice and equity. After the year of residency, graduates receive priority hiring as Envision Education teachers.
TUITION
~$23,290 tuition (final tuition set in Dec. 2025 for the Class of 2027)
BENEFITS
$47,500 stipend(Residents are not employees of the school)
State and federal grants up to $15,000
Alder Tuition Scholarships ranging from $3,000 - $10,000
Up to $47,500 in federal financial loans and the opportunity to apply for scholarships

Requirements / Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree completed by the end of July 2026
-A grade point average (GPA) of 2.65 preferred, under 2.65 GPA should still apply
-Eligible to work in the United States: U.S. citizen, DACA, permanent residency
