Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Licensing Manager. This leadership role focused on ensuring that the company’s operations, products, and policies adhere to all applicable state and federal regulations. This individual will manage licensing processes, oversee external counsel relationships, and develop a robust compliance program. They will serve as a critical cross-functional advisor, ensuring that regulatory requirements are understood and integrated into all aspects of the organization, particularly product development and policy execution.

Responsibilities:

Regulatory Expertise:

  • Stay current on all relevant state and federal regulations in servicing 
  • Interpret and communicate regulatory updates to the Executive team, advising on potential impacts to business strategy and operations.

External Counsel Ownership:

  • Manage relationships with external counsel, ensuring their guidance aligns with Mia Share’s goals and compliance obligations.
  • Oversee decision-making processes and product constructs as informed by external counsel to maintain regulatory adherence.

Cross-functional Advising:

  • Act as a regulatory advisor to internal teams, particularly revenue, operations, and product teams.
  • Review product launches, advising on necessary changes or improvements to align with regulatory requirements.

Licensing and Agency Management:

  • Monitor licensing requirements for Mia Share’s operations across all jurisdictions.
  • Secure, renew, and manage all necessary licenses and permits, ensuring timely submissions and compliance.
  • Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies and respond to inquiries, audits, or investigations related to compliance matters.

Compliance Program Development:

  • Continue to follow and improve compliance program to streamline necessary internal policies to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with partners to align their policies with Mia Share’s compliance program, ensuring readiness for all relevant audits.

Risk Mitigation and Monitoring:

  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Address gaps or weaknesses in compliance processes promptly and effectively.

Who you are:

  • A strategic leader with extensive experience in compliance, licensing, or regulatory affairs.
  • Adept at interpreting and applying regulatory requirements to complex operational contexts.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Skilled communicator capable of advising and collaborating across teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications: 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Compliance, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional, Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager) 

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in compliance, licensing, or regulatory affairs
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing compliance programs and servicing licensing by state for submissions and renewals 
  • Experience collaborating with external counsel and cross-functional teams.
  • Paralegal work experience preferred 

Skills and Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of state and federal regulations 
  • Proven ability to manage complex licensing and regulatory relationships.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
