Summary

Qualifications: Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field with five years of professional experience in BI tools and SQL modeling, including at least three years of action-oriented data analysis. K12 education background is preferred.
Location: Remote from Virginia, United States of America (fully remote, available to residents of 50 states and D.C.)

Job Description

The Data Analyst assists in the preparation, design and execution of models and data products to improve the academic and business outcomes of Stride. The position participates as a member of the analytics team identifying and analyzing school data, proprietary data, and third-party data to answer thoughtful and relevant research questions and provide replicable, well-documented analyses.

SUMMARY: The Data Science Analyst assists in the preparation, design and execution of models and data products to improve the academic and business outcomes of Stride. The position participates as a member of the analytics team identifying and analyzing school data, proprietary data, and third-party data to answer thoughtful and relevant research questions and provide replicable, well-documented analyses.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

  • Leverage products such as: DBT, SQL, Python and GitHub to collect, organize and model data sets for peak functionality per business requirement;
  • Design, Create, Deploy and Maintain various products and applications through the Power BI service;
  • Provide ad-hoc analyses to drive insights, provide overviews of major conclusions, constraints or cautions;
  • Build and manage cross functional relationships in order to synthetize data domain knowledge;
  • Support initiatives for data integrity and normalization including but not limited to data ownership;
  • Collaborate with the visualization & modeling teams to ensure cohesiveness between products;
  • Process confidential data and information according to guidelines;

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field
  • Five (5) years of relevant professional experience with BI tools and SQL modeling, including at least three (3) year of experience performing action and outcome-oriented data analysis OR
  • Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases for BI products
  • OR Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Ability to clear required background check

Certificates and Licenses: None required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • (2+) years modeling with DBT / Snowflake preferred 
  • (3+) years developing BI products (Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Experience in K12 education as a teacher, researcher or data personnel
