Role Snapshot

Compliance and Training Analyst supporting Alabama State University's Financial Aid office to ensure regulatory compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies. This role serves as a policy expert and training facilitator across campus departments.

Key Responsibilities: Research regulatory inquiries, oversee federal and state audits, administer federal aid programs, monitor Title IV compliance requirements, and brief leadership on regulatory changes and implementation strategies. Serve as communications liaison between Financial Aid and other university departments regarding student records and accounts.
Skills & Tools: Strong analytical and research capabilities with proficiency in information technology systems, federal financial aid regulations, and Title IV federal student aid programs. Excellent communication and training facilitation skills with understanding of NCAA regulations and experience with enterprise systems like PeopleSoft and Banner.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required with 10 years of higher education and financial aid experience. Working knowledge of federal financial aid systems (COD, NSLDS, FAA) and comprehensive understanding of Title IV regulations and state financial aid programs.

Job Description

Alabama State University (ASU), Division of Student Affairs, Office of Financial Aid invites applications to fill the position of Compliance Analyst and Training. The selected candidate will work closely with multiple departments within ASU in order to support the campus Financial Aid office to ensure compliance by reviewing completed financial aid processing based on the federal, state, institutional and external entities of awards, disbursements and reconciliation based on policies and procedures and regulations.  This person will serve as policy expert, training facilitator and communications liaison through the University with regards to student admission, financial, registration records and student accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research answers for regulatory (federal and state) inquiries and provide guidance to the appropriate staff
  • Assist with the oversight of annual federal and state audits to ensure compliance in all areas
  • Assist with the administration of all federal aid programs, including staying abreast of current regulations and policies
  • Monitors regulatory and administrative requirements of Title IV federal student aid programs, identifies regulatory changes and systematic problem, to include surveying other colleges for responses and brief the Associate Vice President of recently adopted regulations with regards to Title IV aid and state programs along with proposed solutions including plans, recommendations, and timelines for effectively implementing changes appropriately both for compliance and administrative effectiveness

Bachelor's degree, 10 years of Higher Education/Financial Aid experience, proficiency with information technology delivery of online services, strong analytical skills, have an understanding and working knowledge of federal financial aid regulations, Federal Financial Aid Systems (COD, NSLDS, FAA, etc. ) Federal Title IV financial aid and NCAA regulations. Experience with PeopleSoft and Banner highly desired.
