Role Snapshot
Junior Software Engineer at CommonLit, a nonprofit education technology organization, to develop high-quality Ruby on Rails and React code that enhances educational outcomes for students across the United States.
Key Responsibilities: Write high-quality Ruby and React code and tests for a Rails application, collaborate with product and design teams, conduct code reviews, and participate in on-call rotations including production deployment and operation.
Skills & Tools: Experience with Ruby on Rails, JavaScript frameworks (preferably React), SQL (PostgreSQL), and strong written and communication skills. Commitment to equity in education is valued.
Qualifications: 0-2+ years of web development experience with familiarity with Ruby on Rails through prior experience, bootcamp, or personal projects. Ability to work comfortably with SQL and JavaScript frameworks.
Location: Remote - United States
Compensation: $85K–$100K/yr
