Role Snapshot
Orientation & Mobility Specialist (COMS) providing in-person instruction to help students develop mobility skills and spatial confidence in rural and urban environments around Yreka, California. This role delivers high-impact, real-world mobility training through 1:1 instruction and travel intensives.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver 1:1 orientation and mobility instruction focusing on street crossings and environmental mapping, lead travel intensives to urban centers, assess and refine cane techniques, and document progress for compliance. Provide specialized instruction to build transportation fluency and spatial awareness.
Skills & Tools: ACVREP Certification (COMS) and experience with one-on-one intensive compensatory service models. Strong ability to teach practical mobility skills in diverse environments and document client progress.
Qualifications: Must hold ACVREP Certification (COMS) and have experience with 1:1 intensive service delivery models. Local candidates to Yreka, CA preferred; ability to travel to Northern California required with stipends provided.
Location: Yreka, California
Compensation: $50K–$75K/yr
