Summary

Virtual Support Needs Educator providing instructional support to California students with mild to moderate or extensive support needs in a fully remote capacity. This role directly impacts student learning outcomes through personalized educational assistance.

Key Responsibilities: Deliver daily remote instruction and educational support to students with varying support needs using evidence-based practices and SEIS frameworks. Conduct lessons and provide individualized assistance during scheduled hours (7:30am-3:30pm PST).

Skills & Tools: California teaching certification and proficiency in Special Education Instructional Services (SEIS) methodology. Strong remote communication skills, adaptability, and ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learner needs.

Qualifications: Current California teaching certification required with expertise in supporting students with mild to moderate or extensive support needs. SEIS knowledge and experience working with special needs populations highly preferred.

Location: Remote - San Jose, California

Compensation: $300/day (1099 contract, rates negotiable and subject to change). Approximately $65,000 – $78,000/year based on typical 220-260 working days annually.

Fully Remote, 1099 Contract Opportunity
Mild to Moderate Support Needs/Extensive Support Needs California certification is required.
SEIS knowledge is highly preferred
Schedule: 7:30am-3:30pm PST
LiveScan Fingerprinting will be required, and must live near a LiveScan location or be willing to drive to one.
Teach the curriculum of the school on district virtual platform, attend district PD + faculty meetings, record student progress, and partner with in class facilitator who is physically in class with students.
Must be authorized to work in the United States

Create strategies to engage and nurture student learning and student relationships
Create lesson plans aligned with the class curriculum
Keep track of student grades and performance

Must be authorized to work in the United States and currently hold a valid Support Needs Certification in California.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a professional educator
Must have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university.
Laptop or desktop computer, webcam, headset, and reliable internet access.
Participate in a virtual skills teaching demonstration + submit a background check as part of the application process.
Prior online teaching experience is a plus!
